Embellishing
Batik Art Paintings are works of art in their own right. However, we are always thrilled to see the results of added embellishments.
By using the many possible decorative threads, an array of beads, yarns, ribbons, and even iron-on crystals you can further enhance your finished projects.
Whether you are a beginner at embellishing or very experienced, we have ideas for everyone!
Iron-on crystals are a fast and easy way to add some bling to your art piece.
You can find them online, or pick them up at a local craft store.
My favorite crystals to use are the Swarvoski™ Hot-Fix crystals, which can easily be applied using a BeJeweler™ or by simply using the tip of your iron.

Once you begin beading, the possibilities are endless!
This Flower Batik was the first beading project my daughter had done!
She worked on it at different times while watching TV!
Using one of our medium size Batik Art Paintings – Dragonflies # DF105, this quilt artist stitched every part of the Dragonfly and fern design as well as using the trapunto technique to make the Dragonflies stand out.
She then used a stipple effect for the background.
This is an amazing work of art!
The quilting artist used a type of Holographic thread that adds the ultimate sparkle to her piece making it absolutely stunning!
Imagine the changes you can make by adding many types of embellishments!
Starting with a small size Batik Art Painting- Friendly Fish #FH26.
I used holographic threads, iron on crystals, and eyelash yarn to make this one pop!
I started with the holographic threads around the coral, plants and fish, then added the iron on crystals on the fish scales and seahorse.
I put the eyelash yarn on the seaweed and zig-zagged over with invisible thread.
Cutting up the batik and adding complimentary fabrics is a brilliant approach to the construction of this stunning art piece.
Using a heavier thread, yarns and primitive beads adds to the beauty of this project.
